Choose the currency the portfolio adds up in, and enter your company's own rates so programmes in other currencies join the totals.

Programmes keep their own currency everywhere in their project. The portfolio, though, needs one currency to add them up. You choose that reporting currency, and you type the rates your company wants to report at. ProjectCAPEX does not fetch live market rates.

Before you start

Check first

  • You are the company owner or a company admin
  • You know which currencies your programmes use
  • You have the rates to use, and the date they are from

How to set the reporting currency

  1. Open Company admin

Open the company page and choose the Admin tab. Owners can also use Company admin in the account menu.

  2. Go to Currency

    Choose the Currency tab.

  3. Pick the currency

Under "Reporting currency", choose one from the list.

  4. Save

    Select Save reporting currency.

How to add a rate

  1. Find Add a rate

Under "Company rates", find Add a rate. Currencies your programmes use without a rate are listed first.

  2. Enter it

Choose the Currency. Type how much one unit is worth in your reporting currency, for example 1.16. Set the As of date.

  3. Save it

Select Add rate. The rate joins the table and those programmes join the totals.

  4. Update later

Change a rate or its date in the table and select Save, or select Remove.

How the conversion shows

  • Every converted total carries a line such as "Converted at company rates as of 25 Oct 2026". The date is the oldest rate used.
  • If everything is already in the reporting currency, the line says "All amounts in USD" (or your currency).
  • A programme with no rate stays out of every total. The note names it, for example "1 programme not converted, add a rate for GBP". It still shows its own figures in its own currency.
  • A programme with no currency at all needs its currency set on the project.

Good to know

  • A rate means "1 unit of this currency = this many units of the reporting currency".
  • Rates must be above zero.
  • When your programmes span several companies, the portfolio filter bar shows Rates from. Choose which company's reporting currency and rates to use. By default it is the company with the most programmes.
  • Project cards also show budgets converted with the company's rates where a rate exists.
  • Everyone in the company can read the currency settings. Only the owner and company admins can change them.
